PRICING AND YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION

MY STYLE

My aim is to photograph your family and children honestly, genuinely and beautifully; a combination of fine art and real life.

I shoot all my work on film, both 35mm and medium format. I love the look of film; that you have to have the artistic vision when you take the photograph and that you can’t create it afterwards at a computer.

Film is perfectly suited to creating beautiful photographs of children – the skin tones are so natural and the colour palette that film uses is perfect for creating soft, warm images that capture the wonderful magic of childhood.

YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION

Portrait shoots with me are always very relaxed. For the children it’s as much about having an adventure as it is about having their photograph taken. There is never a need for them to perform, we just have lots of fun and the images are always very genuine and natural.  

As a mother, I know just how precious images of childhood are and I understand how unique each child is. I always spend time getting to know your family and what the children enjoy so that the portrait session can be exactly tailored to what they enjoy. I’m not only interested in taking great portraits but I want the whole session to stand as a cohesive body of photography that tells the story of your family; fine art and real life combined together.

SESSION FEES

Session Fees start from £195 and shoots take place on location - either at your home or a mutually agreed venue, such as a local park, beach, woods etc. Your session fee includes a pre-shoot consultation, the shoot itself, all developing and editing costs and your viewing session.

PRESENTATION

I believe that film is that little bit extra special. And so I make sure that when it is developed it gets the utmost care and attention.  I offer lots of ways of presenting the images – frames, acrylics, albums, folios– there is something for everyone and all the suppliers I use have been chosen for their attention to detail and for creating fantastic artisan products. Frames start from £175. Print-ready scans of your negatives are also available for purchase. If you would like further price details and/or to check availability please contact me.

To give you some idea for budgeting most people typically spend between £600 and £1500 on their portraits.

MINIMUM PURCHASE?

Firstly, there is none! It's not my style at all. I want you to adore your photographs and the whole experience of having your family photographed. If I haven't achieved that, then I'm not doing my job properly. Minimum purchase requirements go against every standard I uphold in my business. 

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW?

I go everywhere with my camera, have a crazy number of pictures of my son Noah (who is turning out to be a great model), love my family to bits, am addicted to any kind of adrenaline sport, have a very talented musician sister, used to make ball gowns just for fun and trained as a garden designer before I realised that I loved photographing people (but still haven't redesigned our own garden!).
